Overview
The new School of Medicine, Clinical School & Research Centre presents a public face to the role of UWS at Blacktown Hospital. The striking four-storey development provides students and researchers with specialist teaching, laboratory and office spaces. The state-of-the-art facility is highly interconnected with open and generous stairs connecting the levels, allowing for the fluid movement of staff and students between spaces.
A landmark architectural building in its own right, this new facility in Sydney’s western suburbs was further enhanced by the superbly executed frameless glazed balustrades. Complementing the off-form concrete, the stainless handrails and fittings, combined with the clarity of the glass elements resulted in an aesthetically pleasing outcome.
