Overview:
First started in 1903, the SAN Hospital is NSW’s largest single campus private hospital and is a multi-award facility offering access to world class doctors, nurses and other health professionals. Built on the grounds of the original hospital, the SAN Hospital Clinical Education Centre is an important component of the expansion of the hospital, providing a much needed training facility for the health professionals of tomorrow.
Working closely with Morris Bray Martin Olleman Architects, who are responsible for the masterplan of the SAH expansion programme, Active Metal’s work starred these 2 mirror image cantilevered stairs and included glazed balustrades and handrails to the stairs. The void edge especially due to the use of the building and adjoining theatre space required a crowd load rated balustrade design.
Complementing the stairs, Active Metal also installed a dividing glazed balustrade in the amphitheatre.
