Overview
Home to 800 students on average, the new Queen Mary Building is the place to be to make the most of your time at the University of Sydney. Made up of three main types of accommodation with access to shared common facilities including catered dining, communal kitchens and meeting rooms, the building offers something for every kind of student.
The expansive rooftop and sky lounge entertaining areas provides an additional communal space with incredible city and district views, allowing students and guests to relax and recharge. The Active Metal team ensured that these views were maximised in complete safety with the installation of a 1800mm high aluminium and glazed balustrade around the entire perimeter of the rooftop, complete with glazed gates. The building also has a myriad of external balconies that did not meet code where Active installed 4 kilometres of frameless glass balustrades to meet compliance.
