The Sydney office oversees a network of 800 stores. In a strategic relocation from Macquarie Park to North Sydney, the Milan headquartered Luxottica engaged the interior designer Bates Smart to design its new premises of 3,176sqm spanning over 3 levels located at 1 Denison St. Luxottica values health, wellness, and agility for all its staff. To ensure a strong internal and external connectivity, the design principles include natural materiality, ample light and transparency, and internal brands connectivity.
The hero of the space is the modern staircase that joins the three levels from level 34 to level 36. The inter-tenancy stair provides unparalleled visibility and visual connectivity to the whole workspace. The lower level is a straight floating stair design whilst the upper level is a floating stair with a switchback design. The floating design element naturally emphasizes internal visibility, while situated next to the floor-to-ceiling windows and surrounded by the glazed balustrades bringing the iconic Sydney city and harbor views to the indoors. The stair treads are finished in an elegant light grey marble, making it a journey of distinction when elevating the staff and visitors from the workstations to the showrooms at the top level. The result, a stunning modern staircase, with more than a little nod to the Italian roots of this remarkable company.

As North Sydney’s first Premium Grade commercial tower, 1 Denison sets a new benchmark as the tallest commercial building in North Sydney, standing 158 meters high. Perfectly connected both externally and internally, 1 Denison is surrounded by the shopping and services of a growing CBD.
