Overview:
Over a century old, the former Oswald Bond and Free Store in Sydney’s Rocks area is an outstanding example of creative heritage refurbishment. Consisting of a series of three interlocking historical warehouses, 1 Kent boasts a stunning internal atrium and commanding views of Walsh Bay and Sydney harbour.
Desiring a beautifully crafted stair installation that could overcome access limitations, Active Metal was brought in to create the modular stair design that was created offsite before each of the components were brought in via the lift and assembled onsite. Using the internal atrium to advantage, access equipment was able to be hoisted up there also to ensure the smooth installation process.
