Overview
As one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, Roche Australia’s primary objective is to provide healthcare solutions that deliver superior options for diagnosis and treatment. With a personalized healthcare approach that aims to improve the quality of life of patients, Roche Australia also wanted to ensure their new Millers Point headquarters was a place where employees would thrive.
The innovative ‘Rain Room’, a three-level external stair case, was designed to give them Roche team a sensory touch point with the outdoors, flooding the workplace with natural light and giving them a literal window to what is happening beyond their desks. Whether the skies are grey with rain or a brilliant blue, this roofless atrium is a centerpiece of the design with its galvanized sawtooth stringer staircases and greenery trickling down from the rooftop gardens above.
The Active Metal team were proud to be a part of this unique project, completing the staircases, balustrades and handrails in the rooftop garden and the structural steel awnings above.
