Transcending time and space but understanding the importance of upholding an aesthetic pursuit of innovation. Respect for this heritage underpinned the design for this Fashion House headquarters. Every element of the two-floor workspace, connected by the graceful helical stair, evokes a subtle but immediate visual connection to the luxury brand.
The new Australian head office workplace located at level 32-33 were designed by Group GSA and embody the iconic fashion brand: modern, elegant and timeless, in an architect expression of design elements: neutral color pallets, clean lines with curved features. The perfect balance of function and beauty is essential in a fast-paced work environment.
Embodying the classic art deco, mirrored staircase of fashion houses like the 31 rue Cambon in Paris, the iconic curved stair has become almost like one of the symbolic backbones of some of French fashion’s brand story’s. Translating the Parisian brand connection in Sydney, the helical stairs designed and constructed by Active Metal in this new workplace aligns the brands modern classic spirit. The dramatic curve of the helical stairs welcome the staff and visitors at the receptionist level, stepping up with marble treads in neutral colors, with a hint of glamour in the golden brass handrails. There’s no detail too small in this fit-out. True, there are no mirrors behind this stair, but in terms of grace, elegance and luxury, the stair is indeed befitting to the renowned quality of French fashion.
