The designer staircases in CPA Australia’s Melbourne workspace reflects their member-centric and collaborative culture.
CPA Australia is a leading professional accounting body. Founded in 1886, as of 2021, it has over 168,000 members working in over 100 countries and regions around the world. CPA Australia’s Victorian office is located at 28 Freshwater Place, a smart commercial building on the Yarra River South Bank.
CPA Australia engaged Unispace to refurbish its workspace to provide employees and members with a contemporary professional, efficient and sustainable environment. The design intent is to improve productivity, team collaboration, service delivery, and employee satisfaction.
Seamlessly blending strategy and design, the central designer staircases from level 17 to 20 were delivered by Active Metal. Each stair has a switchback design with curved corners to the mid landing. The stair features a black finished steel balustrade, paired with stainless handrails also finished in black, and vinyl tread linings. The lower level of the stair landing is surrounded by a plant garden, which add the biophilic element contrast to the industrial feel stair design.
