Overview:
This 1950’s industrial building was recently converted and extended to become the new Sydney Headquarters for COS (Complete Office Supplies). Designed by Crawford Architects and built by FDC Construction and Fitout, this building was transformed to meet the growing demands of this flourishing Australian owned and operated business.
The existing terrazzo staircase was retained and revitalised, with Active Metal fabricating and installing the painted structural steel pipes that span 4 floors – from basement to rooftop. Glass panels were then side fixed directly to these pipes and stainless steel handrails fixed to the glass panels. In keeping with this design, Active Metal also supplied and installed the glazed balustrades to the entry lobby void and substituted stainless steel cables for the glass in the fire escape.
