Stainless steel handrails (No.6/2K polish), AS1428 compliant handrail designs, conceal fix wall brackets
Overview
With a vision to create a world class civic centre in the heart of the Chatswood shopping precinct, Willoughby Council set to work to design a facility that would become the performing arts centre for the North Shore. Built by a leading Sydney builder, the facility combines state of the art performing theatres with retail zones, open plaza spaces and the council library and has become an architectural masterpiece in its own right.
As the handrail contractor for the project, Active Metal fabricated and installed many hundreds of metres of stainless steel handrails throughout the project; from the grand entry stairs to the corridors and theatres themselves. Also completing items such as removable balustrades in the operable orchestra pit, Active Metal’s work was a fitting complement to the high class of the building’s features.
