Overview
The Charles Perkins Centre or “The Hub”, as it’s known, is an architectural statement on its own. Designed to support academics and students from all disciplines working to develop real-world solutions to ease the burden of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, this iconic building offers the next generation of researchers and practitioners a place to collaborate, learn, inspire and train.
Mirror staircases, located at the western and eastern ends of the building, connect the 7 levels with almost 200 square metres of glazed balustrades in each. Active Metal’s work in this impressive building was wide and varied, and included glazed balustrades to 2 other stairs and also a glazed structural skylight.
