Overview
Partnering with a multidisciplinary team of interior designers, architects, graphic designers and landscape designers, Bank of China’s Sussex Street office is not what you would expect from a bank head office.
Combining both culturally appropriate design elements and local Australian style, Bank of China’s offices feature sweeping curves, lush indoor gardens and a central interconnecting staircase, created by the Active Metal team.
The unique stringer stair mimics the curves of the space, acting as a design element rather than a strictly functional piece. Additional staircases can be found throughout the building with matching timber tread finishes, wood and gold-look handrails and glazed balustrades.
