Overview
Housing the headquarters of a leading fashion jeans company, this exciting reinvention of an 1850’s property has provided East Sydney with a unique commercial building which mixes old with new. Connecting the building’s three floors is a uniquely crafted stair with exposed undersides revealing the beautifully integrated treads and balustrade members.
Steel panelling continues around the void and down the concrete stairs; providing a powerful contrast with the colourback glass whilst keeping with the original design thesis; modern and minimalist. Expertly fabricated, installed and finish-painted by Active Metal, the stair is without doubt the centrepiece of the development.
