Switchback Stairs
Switchback Stairs
If you want a staircase with a gorgeous design that also accommodates high levels of foot traffic, switchback stairs might be the perfect choice. Also called U-shaped or scissor stairs, switchback stairs have at least two flights of steps that are positioned 180 degrees from each other with a landing between them.
The Genius Behind the Switchback
With switchback stairs, you can save space and shorten the distance between two floors. Instead of having one long staircase, scissor stairs involve shorter flights that stack over the other. This breaks long, straight lines in your interiors and allows the user to rest before taking another flight of stairs.
