These examples are 17.52mm (8+1.52PVB+8) and 21.52mm (10+1.52PVB+10) from standard toughened glass. Other thicknesses commonly used are 13.52mm and 25.52mm. Typically edge finish for PVB can vary so samples should be obtained. PVB is not 100% proof against moisture ingress.
Where a superior strength and waterproof laminate is required for higher loadings and applications without handrails, the SGP (Sentry Glass Plus) interlayer is used, bonded between the toughened glass panels. This example is a 15.04mm (6+3.04SGP+6) from standard toughened glass. Other thicknesses commonly used are 19.04mm, 23.04mm and 27.04mm. The SGP has a typically better laminate edge finish. Common brand name versions of the SGP panel include Skyglass and Vistaview, but most of our glass suppliers can provide the same specification.
