Overview
Introducing the completed staircase for Allianz Melbourne’s new headquarters at 555 Collins Street. This project, a collaboration between Active Metal, Gray Puksand, and JLL, is a striking example of innovation and teamwork.
The 5-level inter-tenancy stair, meticulously crafted by Active Metal, stands as a focal point of the office space, symbolising connectivity and modernity.
The design and construction of the staircase were complex, requiring precise structural planning and coordination. The sleek white steel frame offers a contemporary aesthetic, while the glass balustrades contribute to an open, airy feel, enhancing the sense of space and light throughout the building. Timber handrails add a touch of warmth, balancing the modern materials with a natural element. This combination of materials reflects a sophisticated yet inviting environment, aligned with Allianz’s brand and workplace ethos.
This staircase is more than just a functional element; it is a crucial part of the architectural narrative of Allianz’s new HQ. The consolidation of Melbourne’s workforce from two different sites into this cutting-edge office space required features that promote both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The stairway connects five levels, facilitating easy movement and interaction among employees, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
Beyond the staircase, the new office space includes 478 work points and 42 meeting spaces. These areas are designed with a focus on employee well-being, incorporating natural elements and wellness areas that reflect a commitment to environmental impact and the health of the workforce.
The integration of such thoughtful design elements ensures that the new headquarters not only meets the practical needs of Allianz’s employees but also enhances their overall work experience.
