Overview
The stair was pre-fabricated off-site by Active Metal. This approach ensured precision in construction and minimised on-site disruptions, aligning with AirTrunk’s commitment to efficiency and quality. The stair features double spine stringers, a design element that not only provides robust structural support but also creates a visually striking centre-piece within the office space.
One of the most captivating aspects of the new staircase is its custom metallic paint finish. The rich brown hue, chosen to complement the modern interior design of AirTrunk’s headquarters, adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The incorporation of timber elements further enhances the natural warmth and texture, creating a harmonious blend of metal and wood. Subtle lighting integrated into the design highlights these features, ensuring the stair remains a focal point even in lower light conditions.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the staircase plays a crucial role in promoting workforce connectivity. By seamlessly connecting three floors, it encourages spontaneous interactions and collaborations among employees, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the overall work environment. This physical connection between floors breaks down the barriers of traditional office layouts, contributing to a more dynamic and integrated workspace.
The new staircase has been met with widespread acclaim from AirTrunk employees, who appreciate the improved mobility and accessibility it provides. The design encourages movement and physical activity, contributing to employee well-being. Additionally, the use of pre-fabrication techniques aligns with sustainable building practices, reducing waste and energy consumption during construction.
