Stair Inspiration: Grand Lobby Stairs in Echo Building at the Delft University of Technology

Designed by the architect UNStudio, Echo, the new interfaculty building for TU Delft, is designed to meet the leading Dutch university’s need for flexible extra teaching space, and to be a sustainable and future-proof campus that stimulates movement and collaboration.

Centrally positioned in the lobby is a grand staircase connecting 3 storey’s building with bamboo rib balustrades. It is designed to facilitate the main circulation in the building and promote physical movement, contributing to the health of students, researchers and teachers alike.
