The Gallery of Experimentarium – Double Helix Stairs
Share this content on social media
Tesigned by the renowned architect CEBRA, the gallery of Experimentarium is a rare example how architecture changed a building’s expression from an introvert to an extrovert, engaging and vibrant attraction.
The first building experience is the Helix staircase that welcomes the visitor with its radiating copper cladding as soon as passed the entrance. The staircase ensures a good internal flow and creates coherence between the floors. At the same time, it substantiates the building’s scientific focus. The inspiration of the stair structure is an abstract version of the DNA. The 100m long staircase is built from 160 tons of steel and clad with 10 tons of copper.
