Stair Inspiration: The Biotope

Sometimes, the staircase not only takes you to an inspirational workplace, but also an inspiring building.

‘The Biotope’, taking root in Greek, meaning ‘place of life’, is the name of the new home of Métropole Européenne de Lille in northern France.
Focus on wellness and guided by the belief that nature is not only important for productive and healthy employees, but also important in itself. The buildings designed by the Danish architect firm Henning Larsen emphasis on sustainable materials and green spaces.

‘The Biotope’ provides a nature-filled workspace with a broad skylight flooding through the atrium stairs with abundant sunlight, fresh air and tranquility.
