“….the Macquarie Uni Arts Precinct has many architectural features, including hundreds of metres of glazed balustrades”
The Macquarie University Arts Precinct Project (MUAPP) was a transformational project for the Faculty of Arts that consolidates ten of twelve departments into a precinct that showcases the unique nature and focus of each department.
Lipman worked closely with their client Macquarie University, architects Architectus and many specialist contractors such as Active Metal to deliver what is a truly outstanding facility.
New workplaces, research and teaching spaces were delivered through an expansion and upgrade of existing buildings delivering a level of flexibility and adaptability to allow for future change. Other inclusions were a new museum a highlighting numerous collections and consolidating the Ancient History Museum plus the Australian History Museum.
Features such as the soaring central atrium with the ETFE roof, and the rooftop outdoor learning space serve to provide a feeling of space and grace. The epitome of modern learning environments. In the words of our Project Manager, Jameel Dorrah, “it made you feel like going back to uni!”
