Active Progress – Spiral Stair at North Sydney on the road to Completion

Another beautiful steel plate spiral stair going in at North Sydney. Active Metal specializes in taking the architects concept and turning it into a reality, and this time it will be a sculptural icon.

Here you can see the original architectural concept for the stair then our 3D model built to reflect the actual site conditions and measurements, plus to take into account how we will get it into position on site.

This is then expertly fabricated in our Silverwater factory, broken down to the required segments and shipped to site. For this project we had to feed these sections through an existing glass facade, and then reassemble the stair in position.

Not yet complete, but looking great, this stair will have its handrails, paint finishes and other items completed over the next few weeks. Look out for the final completed shots!
